Penny Blacks Bio:
Penny Blacks are an Edinburgh-based five piece dealing in melodic rock and roll. Drawing on a rich and varied background of influences they completed their first studio sessions in early summer 2006 having been on the go in one form or another since late 2005.
Mark and Chris met via the internet, recognising similar musical tastes in each other, they began composing songs at the vastly underrated 'Inverleith Terrace' studios, where the first tentative steps were taken towards where they are now. Chris tirelessly scoured the local scene for fellow musicians, finding Jon on the net, looking for likeminded musicians to work with. He then saved Euan from a Bon Jovi tribute act and thus the band starting taking shape. Securing a suitable bassist proved a much harder task and it wasn't until Jordan came on board that the Penny Blacks were complete.
So here we are, and for most, this is the first serious band we've all been in. All our music is based on real life experiences, things we've done, things we've seen. Enjoy.
