THE TALKIES Bio:

THE TALKIES are a brand new rock/pop band originated by singer, songwriter and producer Bjoern Eilen. Musical roots of THE TALKIES are the late 60's and the 70's, their spirit of protest, the ideal of freedom and love which is lost somehow nowadays. Music is more than a job or a possibility to earn a lot of money. It says more about feelings, love or the truth about you and me than words can. Even rock music is a unique language and a form of protest. It’s a shame when you turn on the TV you see and hear things mankind really doesn’t need. I always try to imagine what people in 500 or maybe a 1000 years would think about our current society as a whole. I certainly hope we are not the last people on earth. We need not act as if we were the all knowing great generation. We are not. Life goes on. Well, I know that our songs don’t make this world any better, but I hope you take the time to listen and let them inspire you to share some love with those who really need it...

13.11.2006: The Talkies 's Army decided to work on a official website for the band to create a base from where you get all the information you need about Bjoern Eilen and his "TALKIES". We plan to offer you a basic version of the site till the end of 2006, you will get all the news here, so stay tuned !

THE TALKIES ARMY is a team of music lovers to support Bjoern and his music, and to organize his web performance. Bjoern Eilen moved from Frankfurt back to Osnabrueck in spring 2005 with 20 songs written for THE TALKIES and a self recorded 9 track demo CD containing songs like "Runaway Child“, "Radio", "Goodbye" and "Paradise" (which is the title track of the debut CD). Bjoern knew that these songs have the great spirit of the 70’s , while dealing with today's problems. He brings back this spirit, influenced by great artists like Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Led Zeppelin or Cat Stevens, with a touch of alternative pop tunes. Bjoern went through hard times for the last several years, fighting to create a reputation and publicity for THE TALKIES. This may be the reason why he catches this certain spirit you will not find elsewhere.His is a real rock ’n roll life, never giving up, never surrendering, putting all his energy into his songs.
THE TALKIES have a great team, and a team of wonderful friends. Without their help it would definitely not have been possible to create the songs, the music and the internet presence. So first of all a big THANK YOU to all the people that support Bjoern Eilen. Bjoern takes it as a gift from heaven although he doesn’t believe in god, but in mankind. We decided to build up a web presence for THE TALKIES to release these wonderful songs on internet music portals and free radio stations/web radios to get friends and fans worldwide. The first step was to create a THE TALKIES MySpace profile. MySpace is the biggest online portal for independent musicians.
