AP3 first formed in 2004 at University as a Mogwai influenced 4 piece. Simon later joined on bass, giving more structure to the still experimental group until mid-2006. Lead guitarist Steph Carter left the band in late 2006 to be fully committed to Gallows, later followed by Synth player Billy Rathbone after some shaky shows as a 4 piece.

Initially recording as a 3 piece, AP3 soon recruited Matt on bass with Simon filling the more natural role of lead guitarist. The band soon fell into place and have since been writing heavier driven rock without forgetting their past with the intention of muscling some of the overcrowded ‘Indie’ bands out of the mainstream Radio stations. Their song writing quality is matched by their live shows, which contain energy that simply cannot be captured in the studio. With confidence, commitment and pure determination Assembly Point 3 are serious about going the whole way and becoming the breath of fresh air that mainstream radio listeners need.

Assembly Point 3 is currently based on the north edge of London.
