HYJINX Bio:
Debuted in May of 2001, the Long Island based Pop/Funk/Rock head turning sensation HyJinX, like most bands, has been through lineup changes, style changes, and fan base changes until finally settling on a style and group of friends that has a truly original and danceable sound that is enjoyed by everyone! Gaining fans at each show they play, HyJinX has been taking the island by storm and quickly becoming a widely recognized band with more than 12,000 free sampler CD's in circulation, and a very boastable win at the Goodtimes Magazine Long Island Music Festival Battle of the Bands in December of 2004. HyJinX is made up of seven talented musicians who truly understand what it takes to get people up and moving. Bryce Larsen, plays rhythm guitar, keyboards, some percussion and sings all of the lead vocals. Pasquale Iannelli handles the band's business, arranges and directs the horn section, and plays all of the saxophones. David Calzone works with arranging and writing for the horn section and plays trombone, and Brian Bunce also contributes to the arranging and writing of the horn parts, plays the trumpet. He also handles the majority of the backup vocals with George McRedmond on bass guitar. The percussion section is made up of Anthony Vito on percussion and kit, and Matt Giordano on and lead guitar. The four founding members of the band are Bryce Larsen, Matt Giordano, Brian Bunce, and David Calzone, and all music is written as a collaborative effort. A vigorous performance and rehearsal schedule keeps HyJinx making contacts, friends, and fans continually all over the island and everywhere they go, while also making them one of the tightest unsigned bands around. A HyJinX show is a high energy experience; as visually impressive as it is aurally. As hundreds of concert and bar-goers across Long Island can tell you. |
