DIRGE Bio:

Dirge is a true metal band, creating thick, heavy sonic onslaughts as deep and dark as the backwoods they come from. A power trio with emphasis on power. Mitch Larson (drums) and Kevin Clark (guitar/vocals) first started playing together in a Sparta, WI band called Anubis. They learned to play at parties on a home made stage built on a piece of land known as the Katzenjammer, located on Eric Olson's property in the hills of Sparta. After Anubis dissolved, Mitch and Kevin recruited Eric (bass) to form Dirge merely as a side-project to their primary band, OPFOR. Their first gig as Dirge immediately landed them a show once per week at local venues. All of a sudden, OPFOR became the side-project and Dirge began cutting a swath of destruction all over the Upper Midwest. In just under two years, Dirge has compiled an impressive cache of original songs, recorded a full length CD (The Art Of Betrayal) at Chicago's Pressure Point Studios (http://www.pprecs.com/) and supported bands like Megadeth, Black Label Society and Corrosion of Conformity. They've done it all sans the seemingly-requisite gimmicks and theatrics common in metal today. They bring nothing to the stage but a steady assault of straight forward heavy metal.
