To Be Announced Bio:
To Be Announced started in late July 2004 with Josh, Kevin, and Richard. We had no experience in bands so we had to build from scratch what we are now. Richard had never played drums, Josh just started to learn how to play guitar, and Kevin decided he wanted to switch from the drums to guitar and begin singing. By the time the summer of 04 was almost over, we had written 2 songs. We started the school year and had our first show outside in the mountains at a party in November. All we really remember about that show was that we were so cold. This was the first of a long string of random shows that were few and far between. Nevertheless, we gained our confidence, and, more importantly, realized our love for playing this music. In March, we got some new blood in TBA: Christine, our bass player. Again, she had no prior experience and no equipment, so she fit in perfectly with us. We played our first major show at Eastgate Church on April 2nd. There we released what we feel was our first "Chart topper" song, Speechless. Ya, we thought we were pretty sick. Our next show was May 5th in front of an awesome crowd at UNMs S.U.B. Ballroom. After that, somehow, we had shows start comming up right after the other. During that busy summer, we we found time to spend in the recording studio to record what are now tracks 3-5 on our EP: Greatest Hits (so far). So, on we went developing a little local fan base and selling our CD's and merchandise. Suddenly, during December of '05 we were crushed by a feeling that our EP wasnt up to par, so we went back into recording. During that time we lost Christine due to some most unfortunate personal circumstances. We went through a real hard time at that point. We were in the middle of re-releasing our EP and we didnt have a permanent bassist. Things worked out smoothly, however, thanks to the fill-in help of our good friend Scott. Well, were still struggling to get through it all, but we feel that we're doing the right thing. We have our own music style with sounds between older punk, hardcore punk, and some just strait up rock 'n' roll. Its not about being rich and famous for us, (although that'll be nice) its about the music and having a good time, which we do every day, and we'll never quit. TBA 4 LIFE! Hope to see you in the PIT at our next show. Love, To Be Announced |
