Clone Radio Bio:
Born out of frustration 2002.
It has been said Clone Radio The result of a blissful amalgamation of Soundgarden, The Stone Roses, The Pixies and Ozzy-era Sabbath..mmmmm... read on....
Steve and Mark and brothers Vinny and Jase had played together in various bands but things had reached natural conclusions (as they do) as the new millennium got in to full-flow. Mark and Vinny hatched a plan over a few pints and along with Steve and Jase, they formed the nucleus of what was to become Clone Radio. After various line-up (and name) changes in true Spinal Tap Style, the band finally stabilised in the summer of 2004 with the addition of current drummer Scott. All was good with the Clonies.
The early days were spent concentrating on the live act and writing and road testing material. Over the last 3 years, the band have recorded numerous tracks with various Oxford-based studio legends who have worked with early incarnations of the citys best known exports including Radiohead and Supergrass. The tracks can be sampled on the new look website Cloneradio.com.
The band continue to write and rehearse and gig throughout the south of England and over the years have played a number of prestigious, well-received gigs in London. As for the future.....well....the next big thing would be nice....
Hope to see you soon at a gig near you.....
