PARADYCE Bio: HIP-HOP/R&B QUARTET TURNS TRAGEDY INTO A TRIUMPHANT TRIO Hip-Hop/R&B Trio Continues to Make Music with Reemerging Veteran Rapper-Turned-Producer After Losing a Member to Coma Caused By Car Accident. Where theres smoke, theres bound to be fire; and where theres fire, theres bound to be a drama-filled story worth telling. Just as fans of Hip-Hop and R&B begin to recover from bidding farewell to multi-platinum trios such as TLC and Destinys Child, a new Hip-Hop and R&B trio is sending smoke signals into the music industry forewarning of a sound and style guaranteed to create platinum blaze. Hip-Hop and R&B trio Paradyce blends the soul-filled sounds of two powerhouse altos and a sweet serenading soprano over hot beats produced by reemerging veteran rapper-turned-producer, Emcee Pudgee Tha Phat Bastard. Andrew Jackson High School was where Kitami and Eboni first met in an art class. Eboni, with an ear for music, overheard Kitami humming a melody and began harmonizing her pitch to the same melody and needless-to-say; it was music in the making. While looking through the Village Voice for employment, Ruthie saw an ad that stated, Search for female to be the third member of a Hip-Hop/R&B group. Responding immediately, Ruthie auditioned for Kitami and Eboni and won them over. In search of the fourth harmony to add to Paradyces unique sound, Kitami, Eboni, and Ruthie, added a fourth member. As a short-lived quartet performing on the stage of Showtime in Harlem, Paradyce quickly found, through a crisis, that they had the glue it takes to be a successful musical family when one member suffered a terrible car accident that left her in a coma for over a month and still recuperating to date. The now 20-year old female trio is back to consisting of Ruthie and Eboni, both Brooklyn natives, and Kitami, a native of Queens. Ruthie, a clear-toned strong alto, makes her vocal presence known as the lead on tracks such as When U Comin over. Eboni (possessing a church-background) belts out runs that can carry the weight of several bars before lyrics are even missed on a track. Finally, while most artists utilize the skill of falsetto to flatter listeners with vocal variety, the resident soprano, Kitami masters this range with undeniable ease. Whether in background vocals or taking the lead, Kitamis angelic voice chimes in to add balance to the powerhouse trio of Paradyce.
