Beaming Hoover is a hard rock band from Queens and Brooklyn that is unafraid to take a song where it needs to go. Never limiting itself to any one sound, including vocally, upon close listen you will hear the varying influences each band member contributes to the band's catalog of energetic and soulful songs. Greg Cerars blend of swing and rock style drums, James Hayes punk rock bass lines and Hetfield-style vocals, and Matt Clarks Jimmy Page/David Gilmour-inspired guitar work and haunting vocals mesh together to create a mix of musical mastery that you will hear nowhere else. Beaming Hoover is uncompromising in its determination to produce songs that are both intelligent in theme and musically pleasing. The spectrum ranges from political to personal, and the bottom line comes down to the quality of each individual song. Since its conception in early 2002, the band has gone through some rocky and trying times. Originally named Exeter and co-founded by Greg Cerar and Paul Wunsch, there were many setbacks in finding additional members. All attempts to find like-minded individuals to jam with failed miserably until fate and a little bit of luck found them two compatible band mates in bassist James Hayes and guitarist Matt Clark. Each member brought his own unique brand of creativity and imagination and worked to form enjoyable songs that were both catchy and multi-dimensional.
A bit of misfortune struck the band again in January, 2005 at a gig on Northern Blvd. when Paul Wunsch, singer and co-founder walked off stage mid-show. He told the bouncer, The band will finish without me. He had no idea just how right he was! Finishing the set with James and Matt sharing the singing duties, the band has continued performing as a trio that has gotten better, stronger and more focused on skillfully creating new music and promoting its sound. Regrouped and renamed, the best things about Beaming Hoover are its dedication to the music, to each other, and to providing fans with an energetic stage show. Everyone wants a Beaming Hoover! |
