One Small Life Bio:

One Small Life formed in 2001 and have been playing the Sheffield music venues for the last 4 years, having appeared regularly at The Casbah, Bar Fly and Boardwalk Playing support to,amongst others, Robert Plant(Led Zeppelin) 13 13

Early success was achieved with there first e.p. "Sally" which was received well and featured frequently on Local Radio. The band Released a single "Factor 8" on Kiss This Records in 2002 receiving a huge amount of interest and critical acclaim, the song being played nationally on many radio stations. The Band enjoyed a glimpse of stardom with record company interest, Radio interviews and magazine articles.

There was a line up change in 2003 and now features the three main founding member talents of James Ferguson (Vocals, guitar and piano) David Dews (Drums and vocals) and Peter Winterbottom (Bass guitar). Richie Dews, an internationally acclaimed artist (having played with Sheryl Crow, Thin Lizzy and Dare) also features on the Album and completing the live line up with be Chris Booth (piano, organ) a local musician of great talent.

The music is a mix of Alternative rock / pop songs focusing on strong melody and exciting arrangements to deliver a unique, exciting sound with songs that have hidden depth in both content and production. One Small Life aim to deliver a wealth of addictive hooks, original arrangements and unforgettable songs. The signs are that with the completion of there first album, Other People's Trades, they really do have something special and it should serve as a spring board to greater things.

Influences are wide ranging from, British Iconic bands such as Radiohead, Mansun and U2 to Bowie,The Chilli Peppers and Counting Crows. More modern influences include Foo Fighters,Franz Ferdinand the Killers and White stripes. The band believe that the songs are what it's all about and have put all their energy into finishing the album, over the last year, but look forward to delivering a great live show in the not too distant future.

One small life where picked up by, Irish producer, Colin Ross in 2004. Colin worked with James to develop the songs for presentation to the industry but again due to slow progress a decision was taken to push forward on there own. James has spent the last six months producing and arranging the songs into a 15 track album of the bands best, most consistent music with the aim of a local release to raise the bands profile and gather ammunition for major record label presentation. One small life aim to support the release with a series of new shows in the Sheffield area during 2006.

One small life released their debut album "Other People's Trades" in Jan 06' and have already received great reviews from the press. The album is available on iTunes to download and sample and you can buy a hard copy from the bans website and have it posted anywhere in the world. The first track on the album is available on this site to listen too.
