The Business of Flies - "Overcooked" |
OVERCOOKED: I was feeling a bit confused so I decided to make some tea / I placed a pot upon the stove and turned the dial to medium heat / as I climbed inside I realized I might have trouble getting out / the Teflon-coated walls were high and my body was heavy with doubt / while I was biting my nails, one stuck between my teeth / a drop of sweat fell from my brow and sizzled beside my feet / Im feeling a bit overcooked / my soul is soggy and overlooked / this place is boiling me alive / then I remembered I was still on the stove and I hurriedly found the strainer / I poured myself in, but I was too thin / I slipped through the holes and went down the drain / the scalding water swelled around me, forcing me down the pipe / my path was set, the route unclear / gotta make it to the other side / I just want to make it to the other side |
