Alex Rhyan

Alex Rhyan Bio:

Singer/songwriter Alex Rhyan grew up loving music and dance
but basketball was his main focus until he hit his teens when
he wrote two songs for a talent show and never looked back.
Basketball became secondary as his life took on a new artistic
meaning. Alex's songs were very well received by critics and
friends alike. Alex always knew that he had a strong passion
for music, participating in choirs every year ... a natural
songwriter... with a passionate voice... eventually turning into undeniable
aspirations of a career in music.

Alex's next music venture was to join an elite touring Hip Hop
dance group "Arizona Angels". At about this time Alex and two
friends (Ry and Tay) formed a trio called "Souled Out" using backing tracks
and incorporating choreography into their act.

The backing tracks were not cutting it so Alex took up guitar playing.
It was about this time when Alex joined up with one of his
best friends, Richard, and they played exclusively for high school events.
With his life emphasis now changing from basketball to music
Alex began to refine his act and his style became charismatic
and soulful and driven by the need to "song-write".

In 2004 Alex graduated from Scottsdale Christian Academy
where Alex was the Captian of a State Championship Basketball team. Alex had the tough choice between playing college basketball or pursue his music dream. Alex decided to pass up a college scholarship offer for basketball and focus on making his dreams come true.

Alex is currently splitting his time between Scottsdale, AZ and Southern California where he is working on a TV showcase as a singer songwriter.

Alex has been inspired by musicians like Gavin
DeGraw, John Mayer, Ryan Cabrera & Dave Barnes
to name a few. Alex's songwriting style is fluid, fresh and
melodically moving. Alex is influenced by the above mentioned
artists as well as staples like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson & many blues/soul musicians...
also inspiring and influencing Alex are Justin Timberlake, James Taylor, Jason Mraz, Matt Wertz
Rob Thomas, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Michael McDonald, Leon Russel & Craig David, DashBoard Confessional, YellowCard, Mercy Me, GreenDay, Beatles and last but MOST CERTAINLY not the least is his all time favorite BON JOVI.
