Heart of the Matter

Heart of the Matter Bio:

Heart of the Matter is a metalband from Baarn, Netherlands. We are a three-mans band with a drummer, guitarist/vocalist and bassplayer.

Michiel van den Ingh is our drummer. He originally is a guitarist and played the bass for a while in Heart of the Matter but the constant need for a drummer forced Michiel to play drums. We found out that he's a great drummer and this line-up change was exactly what we needed. Michiel's style of drumming is metallike but he can play other genres too.

Bas de Groen is our bassist. Originaly he was our lead-guitarist. With the line-up change (Michiel->drums) we needed a bassplayer. Bas decided he could be the one because we had two guitars anyway and for me (Roderick van den Brink - Guitarist/vocalist) it was easier to play guitar and sing. Bas has a very bluesy type of playing the bass and that adds to our sound!

Roderick van den Brink is our guitarist and vocalist. He discovered his vocal capabilities about one and a half year ago. His vocal style is clean and is influenced by James Hetfield but he's sound isn't so rough. He is 15 (nearly 16) years old so his vocal style will change over the years. He plays guitar and he is primairly a rythmguitarist. He has to do our solo's wich he hasn't mastered yet (the art of soloing) But Michiel is doing his best to help him in the proces.

We are very dedicated to our music and we are eager to perform!!
