Ross Madderson
Ross Madderson Bio:

Just a quick little bit about me.

Well, I live in Warwick, in the Midlands in England, and I'm currently studying Creative Writing at Winchester University. I have been playing guitar for about six years, and got cajoled into singing by an ex-band member about 4/5 years ago and have since then qualified both as a solo artist, playing acoustic guitar and singing, and as part of a band, usualy playing guitar and singng, in the school Talent Show, which usually combines with several other schools for one big Grand Final.

I am currently in three bands (one is 'My Failed Attempts', another 'Skadigan' and the other is still very much in the making), which I think allows me to express myself through different types of music (My Failed Attempts is more of a punk rock band and Skadigan is a Ska band while the other one will be far heavier, nearer to an Ill Nino, or Killswitch Engage sound).

This is a recording from a talent show. I went a little wrong, but it's probably one the best recordings I could get of it. I'll try and update the version as soon as I can.

This song isn't actually a solo piece, but the only piece recorded by my old band, Undecided. It's just a live version of a song that we played in a multi-school talent show (in which we got to the grand final of!). The solo is a bit shoddy because we were experimenting with the second guitarist (I have to put up a version where I did the solo to show the difference).

This is the first real quality recording I've made of any of my songs. It was recorded using my Squier Stratocaster going through a Boss OS-2 (used in the last verse and chorus) and a Boss ME-50 plugged into a digital four track. I also plugged a mic into the four track for the singing. I then played the recording back onto my PC using Audacity.

It's a little different to my average kind of song, and I only wrote it 'cause I was messing around with my newly acquired ME-50 and got the cool chorus-y delayed distortion sound that's used, although you can't really hear the delay.
