The Deltas Bio:
The Deltas are a rock band based in Lanarkshire. They were initially formed in 2004 by Andy Buxton and Derek Richards, who both shared a common love of music and also a common hatred of working in pointless jobs that they didn’t care about. Over the next few months the band was assembled, disassembled and reassembled again until the final line-up was created.
Since then the Deltas have been gigging constantly – mainly around the Glasgow circuit. They have played in the Barfly, the Arches, the Cathouse and Strawberry Fields on several occasions as well as several other venues, either headlining or as support to other acts. Their gigs are always well received and their fan-base increases with every subsequent gig that they play.
The Deltas make honest, genuine music - music that can connect with people. They are not a gimmick band. They have become extremely exasperated with the current trend for ironic bands with comedy suits and comedy songs. The Deltas want to create music that will endure and hopefully influence other people.
The Deltas have self-financed the release of two CDs – Coming Down EP and Love will Die EP. They are proud of these two releases but feel that the current songs that they are creating eclipse anything on the first two EPs. The quality of the songs that the Deltas are creating is constantly evolving.
