Stone The Free

Stone The Free Bio:

Formed at the beginning of 1996, Stone The Free have been around a while and only now feel they might have found a voice, an expression for the passion driving their music.

Long term friends of the band have always had difficulty classifying the music and that's something Grant, singer and bassist in STF, has no problem with:
"The music is STF music. End of story. We play what we want to,
what we feel is right for a song, and people are free to make what they will of it. We never wanted to be a 'metal band' or a 'rock band'. It's a somewhat self-indulgent process, really, and its awesome when that process strikes a chord with someone else. Fantastic to realise you can hit somebody where they live, through a creation of your own."

Now more than ever, the fusion of metal, thrash, rock (name the sound) is finding a home with audiences, is actually hitting them. It's a relevance that remains fresh, from older songs such as 'Redemption' - rewritten again in 2003, to songs such as 'One Step from Hate' and 'Dark', at once new and harder, yet retaining the trademark STF sound.

The current line-up of Grant, Brian (Drums), Dan (Guitar) and John (Guitar) have succeeded in fusing a common vision and dissimilar influences into something which has the potential to attract and retain an audience as diverse as ever.
