Beckett Bio:

Singer/songwriter Ben Fisher met bassist/vocalist Greg Sleebush in the summer of ’95, both aged 15, they soon began playing the local pub scene, with various line ups. As their song writing developed they progressed to playing their own music at venues and clubs throughout Essex.

By ’98 they had built a strong following and won the Essex ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition. Later, through auditions, they secured a set at the prestigious ‘Celebrity Soccer Six’ event held at Mile End Stadium.

In 2000, Vista, previously named Kar disbanded, though Ben and Greg continued to develop their sound and improve the song writing. 2003 saw the addition of David as lead guitarist to the line up. With his melodies and distinctive sound, David gave the extra dimension needed.

After Ben taking some time out to travel, the name Beckett was settled on. At the beginning of summer 2004 Beckett made their first recording at ‘No Recording Studios’. In November they returned to finish their debut EP following the return of Ed 'Beat Boss' Coss on drums, stabilising the band even further.

Ben’s lyrics are full of the dramas of vivid, real life scenarios covering the ups and downs of love, human fragility and the joys and uncertainties of modern life. The depth of passion in both Ben and Greg’s voices make for compelling listening.

Beckett make an honest, powerful and emotive sound. Their eclectic material ranges from intimate heartfelt ballads, to epic atmosphere drenched anthems. They are a compelling and truly exciting band. Come and see them soon to witness, and be part of, something special.
