unclejohnny Bio:
Surrounded by the detritus of human existance piled in untidy steaming heaps, Unclejohnny sits eating Fray bentos steak and kidney pie with a piece of celery as a spoon. Broken equipment, magazines and newspapers. Left over scraps of carboot sales, juicy titbits from the best skips in town. Clammy car parts, a treasure trove of forgotten history piled like snowdrifts against the walls of his small room. At the centre of his own universe like everybody, but his life is orbited by castoffs, orphaned toys and a cloud of devoted jackdaws.
Unclejohnny are a three piece from West Yorkshire. They make curiously dark, blues tinged rock music. Sometimes
sinister, heavy or dreamy or everything at once. The band reject the current music trend of angular spikey pop/rock and
prefer to dig deep to find something cerebral. Unclejohnny have drawn many comparisons to bands such as early
Pink Floyd, Mars Volta, early Radiohead and Nirvana, Beck and The Beatles Their first gig was supporting Editors
at Liverpool University and came mere months after getting together. The band are currently putting together their
debut album.
