YOUNG DOGG
YOUNG DOGG Bio:

Somewhere in the suburbs of Malden Massachusetts comes a young entrepreneur. He’s not your ordinary "kid" with a dream. He's a kid that is ready to turn that dream into reality. A solo deal with Pyrotek records, his own production company, and an eye for talent, we present to you, YoungDogg. YoungDogg a.k.a Nixon Etienne was born December 11, 1986 in Brooklyn, NY. His father passed away while Nixon was a young boy. Nixon’s mother took on the role of mommy and daddy and moved Nixon and his older sibling to Boston.

While living in Boston, Nixon got his first taste of music. "I lived with my cousin and my uncle. My cousin had Dr. Dre's The Chronic, and he'd never let me listen to it. So when he'd go out, I’d play all the songs like it'd be my last time listening to it". Never losing sight of the music, Nixon and his family moved from town to town all over Massachusetts. From the slums of basements, to projects, and finally into a house, Nixon has experienced it all. "I never had the "all-American" child hood. My mom busted her ass to get me where I’m at today, and its time to show my appreciation".

In 1998, Nixon landed in Malden mass. "Cashmoney Records was the biggest thing back then, so I milked off that for awhile and ran with it". Nixon started a production company called Top Dollaz Entertainment. Signing and starting careers of local artists such as Krayzie-K, X-clusive, and many more, the savvy entrepreneur never stopped. Though many crews have come and many have gone, Top Dollaz Entertainment stood strong in the hurricane. In 2001, Nixon signed artist, Mistro to his team, and began searching for opportunities. Jam'N 94.5 came knocking at his door. YoungDogg and Mistro teamed up in the Jam'N 94.5 Teen Idol Contest to put their name on the map. The contest lasted 12 weeks in which the competitors had to perform at the Palace Entertainment Complex to win the fans votes. The duo of YoungDogg and Mistro prevailed over all the competition and walked out with $2000 in cash and prizes. Since then, they've been making nothing but noise.

In 2002, YoungDogg released numerous mixtapes independently, which sold close to 300 each. "I never had much help from anyone except the girls I had walking around with me saying, do you want to buy Nixon’s mixtape?” With a rising fan base, YoungDogg set his goals higher to reach new heights. All of which came to a crashing halt when a good friend passed away in 2003. "Jean was and will always be a strong motivation for me, cuz at the end of the day, only me and him know what we talked about". YoungDogg kept his word and used his friends passing as motivation. Releasing the "J.C. Mixxxtape", YoungDogg created a whole mixtape in dedication of his lost friend.

With a new spirit, a newfound glory, the kid is back at it again. Signing a deal with Pyrotek Records, and operating his production camp, the boy is ready to be a man. "I've learned a lot out of this business, and one thing I know for sure is, if you ain’t focused, don't waste your time". When asked what kind of rapper he is he says: "I'm a laid back dude, I like to make people know what’s going on and at the same time make them feel good". "Jesus first, then lets get that paper".
