Downward Dog lead vocalist Julia Bogen writes lyrics and sings with a true passion for the music she creates. Influenced by the legendary women of rock and contemporaries like Tori Amos, Allanis and even Maynard from Tool, she combines and mixes it up for a uniqueness that defines the band's overall sound. Rock steady and tight are words that are often spoken when talking of this band. From stop on a dime beats to synchronous thunder, drummer Dave McQueen, Bassist Fred Bogen and guitarist Ritch Lorello deliver astounding performances on every stage, every time.
Downward Dog has had the privilege of playing for over 14,000 people at the first annual PF Chang Rock N Roll Marathon, has headlined shows of 6,000 or more and are favorites among listeners young and old alike.
