Kevin Tye - "Right Where I Should Be" |
Had young boy dreams. The kind you have when your 17. I'd be wild and free. Maybe pitch in the major leagues. But that's not how things worked out. I married Jenny and we settled down. Had some kids and we bought a house. I took a job in this company town But I sometimes wonder how things might have been? What would I do if I could live my life again? But when I'm giving comfort cause my daughter skinned her knee. That's when my life is so clear to me. I'm right where I should be. Takin kids to baseball. Packin up the SUV I'm right where I should be. Dressin up like Santa Clause with presents on Christmas Eve And when my life is over and your prayin over me. Just remember I was right where I should be. It's funny how things worked out. Life just happens when you turn around. You see your kids swingin in the yard. Pretty soon they're goin to the prom. And I sometimes wonder how things might have been? What would I do if I could live my life again? But when I'm takin pictures of my son as a new Marine. That's when my life is so clear to me Cause.. The best things in life ain't hard. Like playin catch out in the yard. And the only thing I really need is growin old with my family Cause I'm right where I should be. Takin kids to baseball. Packin up the SUV I'm right where I should be. Scarin all the neighbor kids to death on Halloween. And when my life is over and your prayin over me. Just remember I was right where I should be. |
