FroBot is an Osaka based funky house producer who brings an extremely funky energy to the dance floor filled with original remixes and dangerously risky techniques. He is well-known for surprising crowds with a very unique style, yet balancing the emotions of the crowd and tracks to suit the show. With a clean mixture of thumping beats & cultural references, FroBot takes seriously into account his audience and provides an original experience catering to their knowledge. In Japan, for instance, a crowd may hear original mash-ups of famous anime songs, where as in America, he will create a mix with a classic rock track that has never been heard before. FroBot listens to countless new tracks each month to hand-select the finest and newest of tracks, without being trendy or unoriginal. If there was one word to sum up FroBot, it would be "FUNKY!". FroBot was introduced to music through the piano at the age of 8 in his hometown north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 13, he started an indie band that was featured in various media, such as radio and magazines, during time in the United States. In 2001, he opened his own recording studio in Butler, Pennsylvania which is still operating today. From 2003 - 2008, FroBot traveled all over the world studying traditional instruments & teaching music in New York, Boston, Detroit, Vancouver, Hawaii, China, & Japan. FroBot is also well known in Osaka for organizing the biggest "Full Moon Drum Circles" in Osaka Jo Park, and other improv jam sessions. He is always known for teaching others about electronic music production via his blog. After seeing the thriving club scene in Japan, FroBot decided to stay and get as much exposure as possible in Osaka. He has played at all of the biggest clubs in Osaka including Lunar Club, Onzieme, Triangle, Sam & Dave, Vano, Neo, Suite, and also travels quite frequently to play big clubs in Tokyo. He has held monthly residencies at Lunar Club's "Ampere" & Sam & Dave 5's "Funk Nights". After becoming familiar with the scene, FroBot started a production company called "AfroBotic" and started hosting many large events all over the Kansai area including "Lost", Kansai's first any only island party. AfroBotic also organizes and sends Japanese local DJ mixes to internet radio stations all over the world. FroBot has a strong fan base throughout Japan and continues to play every weekend at different venues. He is not the kind of artist to sit around and wait for things to happen to him...he makes it happen. |
