Calvin Pert - "Stars and the Moon" |
She wakes up in the morning When there's no one around Then she staggers to the window, to see The red sun go'n down And as regular as the full moon She's reminded of her youth When a young man stole her heart And promised stars and the moon. She watches through the window, a Reflection of her life Her face is painted over a world That's still alive, out side. She watches as the night nights, move Through the lines on her face, Then she looks above, dreams of love, Stars and the Moon. I wouldn't want to wheel around in her shoes I wouldn't want to see a world waist high I wouldn't have the courage in the morning To raise my head.. And go outside. When I get home late, and I see her on the bed Then I know, that she is alright But she's a shadow of the girl who danced around the world Until that, Took away her life Then I wrap my arms around her And give her a kiss, that means Goodnight. Then I look above, dream of love Stars and the Moon. |
