The Scandal Bio: The Scandal are a Three piece band from Portsmouth with a modern blues/60s edge sound, influences such as Jimi Hendrix The Beatles, David Bowie,Buddy Holly and more. Last year they played with bands such as Doll and the Kicks, Jersey Budd and played an acoustic set after the Klaxons at the Ibiza Rocks hotel lobby. On New Year’s Eve 2009 they supported Jack Penate at The Pyramids, Portsmouth. "The first time I saw The Scandal was at Hamptons in early February. The Portsmouth 3-piece infuse a heritage of bluesy, riff crushing dexterity with a very modern likely lad ethos that sees them cascade their way through their own back catalogue as well as the odd Jimi Hendrix cover, perfectly executed in their own Southern manor. They can really fucking play" LONG LIVE ROCK 'N' ROLL "The Scandal is a band full of energy and excitement, which always leave the crowd pleased. Brendan Mcveagh's confident leading vocals and Guitar playing, with impressive drum solos from Dave Lyndsay and immense playing from Owen Blades on bass, has acquired the band a justified reputation for stage presence and their tight playing that produces epic live performances. They write there own material, such as "Take Her Home" "Turn Me Around" and "Lack Of Loveness". They somtimes finish off with the Jimi Hendrix cover "Hey Joe", which Brendan wows the audience with a guitar solo played with his teeth" |
