The Starlite DeVilles Bio:
The Starlite DeVilles formed in early 2009 during the recording of Eric "Big E." Gregory's solo record. Gregory recruited Keith "Bear" Fowler for the guitar work. The two along with bassist Slim Wilson had founded Twain in the late 90's. The sans-frills outfit put out Hangovers and Heartaches and Tragic Tales From the Gilded Gutter, both satisfying excursions inspired by such hell-bent granddaddies as the Replacements as well as pub immortals like the Faces and the Georgia Satellites before calling it quits. The Stalite DeVilles have the same heartfelt knack for both revved-up country rock and raunchy soul roll à la Sir Douglas Quintet and the Faces. Gregory's tunes both celebrate and mourn past relationships gone horribly awry much in the same way of Paul Westerberg and Hank Williams, Sr. The Starlite DeVilles play Uncle Tupelo-style twangy roots rock with a hint of the Beat Farmers' boozy rowdiness whose sound ain't too far from Jason and the Scorchers'.
