Death To The Mckenzies Bio:
Death To The McKenzie’s is Paul Perez on guitar and vocals, Buster H. on drums and Mama Firefly on bass and backing vocals. The bands name is based on a rock opera created by Paul for his second solo album. Its concept was about love, obsession and the murder of the McKenzie family by a serial killer with a taste for human flesh.
Death to the McKenzie’s debut release (2009) was entitled "Control Theory." It was a 12-track album with tempos ranging from the faster tempo, Goth grunge "A Storm is Coming," to the moderate, power rock of "La La Land,” and slower, personal rock songs like the top Itunes selling track, "Suicide Note." “Control Theory" was rooted in philosophy and psychosocial studies. The songs are about love, religion, hypocrisy and the release of (societies nurturing) of “absolute control” with the goal of obtaining an eventual state of enlightenment.
Death to the McKenzie’s follow up album (March 29, 2011) “The Crane Technique,” is more of a fun studio album with hit tracks like the punk anthem, “I’ve peaked and I’m kidding myself,” to the harder grunge rock of “Nothing good is coming,” as well as the retro, rock style, social satire “I want to eat your brain.” The Crane Technique is now in full release and can be purchased on Itunes, Amazon, Spotify, Reverbnation, etc.
