Tha Tinman Bio:
This Is Tha Tinman Born and raised in Durham, NC, Mike Green is striving to become one of the most successful super-producers in the industry today. His style is very unique, unlike the rest of these producers your hear he doesn't have a certain demographic sound. Tha Tinman has his own style that has a little eastcoast and downsouth mix to his music. From growing up in the heart of North Carolina he was exposed to hardcore eastcoast rap and the elusiveness of the dirty south. So you can only imagine the mixture of sounds that rest in his head. Now 3 years in the grinding process of his career, he has produced 2 singles that have been in rotation at local college radio stations in the Raliegh-Durham area and also in Greensboro and Winston- Salem area. Also Tha Tinman has produced and executive produced several mixtapes that have been heard nationally thanks to host like DJ Aaries of The Legion of Doom and including two 21 track mixtapes that he produced 100 percent on all songs, and he will premier in his first music video for the song "Girls" by The Prospects that he produced. In the fall of 2004, Tha Tinman had the opportunity to sit down with Swizz Beats and Grady Spivey of Full Surface and Glenn Toby of T.E.A.M. management at the Book Bank Foundation Charity Auction which was held at the Tuscan Grill in Manhattan, NYC. There he was given valuable tips and strategies on how to achieve success in the music industry. A year later Tha Tinman got a little more business minded and started up his own publishing company named "Steam Room Music". As a CEO he learned the different aspects of the music business. He got in contact with several A&R's at various labels and more connects at movie and television companies. He know how the business side of music is played and is ready for challenge beyond just making music. Unlike most producers, Tha Tinman doesn't use those expensive beats or hi-tech keyboards. Well, mainly because he doesn't have the funds to purchase those things, but he has no choice but to use what he has. So thats why his motto is "It's not what you got, its how you use it". So therefore simply just uses Fruityloops, a 99$ turntable and Reason 2.5 on and off. A small studio set-up is also in the Tinman's repretoir. With a small closet for a booth, he has the 70$ MXL condensor microphone running to a small 50$ phantom power box that then runs into his computer. When a song is ready to be recorded, mixdown, equalized or a sample needs to be chopped down, Tha Tinman uses Cool Edit Pro. That is all Tha Tinman needs to make a top-notch track for any genre.
