Silver Man Bio:
Silver Man was formed in 1996 by DL Diedrich and Kyle Rains in Bel Aire, Kansas. They were each in their mid-teens and started out playing Nirvana and Butthole Surfers covers. A full length demo tape, "What is this???" was recorded in '97 with a few guest artists and sold to friends in school. Most people asked for their money back. Like most bands, SM went through several different names (Phaser, Bio-Grunge and Psycho Trip Monsters). After being joined by drummer, Mike McCorgary, Diedrich and Rains focused on writing rap/metal songs and went by the name, Scrape (with a K). They played one show in front of a bout 30 people, opening for a local band called Stupid Genius. Diedrich went on to perform solo folk songs, and Rains ended up forming a hardcore rap group by the name of Gangstahood Watch. |
