The Louis Hanshaw Band Bio: www.louishanshaw.com www.myspace.com/louishanshaw www.facebook.com Louis Hanshaw (Musician/Producer/Engineer) Well, where do I start. I make music, and I love it. It's the biggest thing in my life, and I want to keep on making it. Simple as that. Where does it come from? The heart, soul,a load of really rough times, broken hearts, a LOT of moving around, getting stiched up, getting dumped, making mistakes, losing the most important people in your life, and gaining new ones. Being broke, being happy, being sad, drinking, smoking, having a laugh, chilling out, wanting to make a load of cash. Wanting to say hey I did it in spite of everything... I have been a musician since the tender age of 10, with vocals and acoustic guitar being my main focus. However, Piano, Clarinet and even instruments such as a Bass Guitar and Percussion have been known to make an appearance from time to time. I also enjoy blending the tradional with more modern sounds, and as such I've gained experience in synth programming. I've been writing songs for the last 12 years, using a variety of instruments in both the creative and performance stages. My songs have recently appeared on my debut EP, which was recorded during my 2 year visit to Germany which we have subsequently remixed and co-produced in England with well known producer Mark Stevens, whose credits include Gabrielle, Take That and Beverly Knight. Since returning to the UK and signing up to Mindseye Music Management, I have since teamed up with musician and songwriter, Gareth Warren to form The Louis Hanshaw Band. We are now due to release our debut single, “Stuck in a Cell” in September. (Please go to www.Louishanshaw.com for further details). My extensive experience with live performances has been locally, in London and also in Germany. Gareth Warren (Musician/Producer/Engineer) I feel i have had an extensive career in music, so far. My first instrument of choice was the lesser known Electric Organ. Being only 6, i found this instrument a challenge, but also a useful stepping stone into the world of music. By the age of 10, I was now learning to play Melodeon, which was influenced by my local Morris Team. This decision proved to be a good move as i have had a lot of success playing the Melodeon with various bands within the country’s folk scene, including the well known Milton Keynes Folk Rockers, Togmor. During this time i was also teaching myself to play guitar (amongst other instruments), this also proved to be a good choice as this was, and is still now, my first choice of instrument. My skills also, like Louis, extend to the Piano, Mandolin, Mandola, Drums, Bass Guitar, Percussion and even, when I feel comfortable enough, singing. My live experience has a history stretching 10 years in countries including, England, Ireland, Germany and France. I have also now advanced into the world of being a professional musician by signing up to a Management Company (Mindseye Music), in the winter of last year, with my good friend and colleague Louis Hanshaw, forming The Louis Hanshaw Band.
