Steven Gunvaldson Bio:
Steve started writing music around 10 years ago in riga latvia. He was taught a few cords by some friends he was stying with and the songwriter in him started pouring out. He played saxophone thoughout middle school and highschool, and when he hit college he began singing some songs with his newly acuired talent of butchering the guitar. His musical influences, although not to be looked for in his music, consist of: "Dave Matthews Band" and mmmm, well now that he thinks about it that is about the only band he can say he really loves, but he is a great fan of all music. From blues and jazz, to country and pop. He played in a portland area rock band for around three and half years until shortly after he got married (to a amazingly sexy and beautiful woman i might add). At which time he had to primarily set aside his dreams of being a rich and famous rock star, so that he could put some food on the table for his family. He never quit writing songs though, and all though he is not a master at the six string he finds himself writing powerful lyrics that are based out of his deep belief in love. A love that is bigger than anything he has ever known and or will ever probably fully comprehend. He desires to see his music, and or his songwriting become well known out of a hope that it could really touch peoples lives. He doesn't fancy himself a incredible melody man, but rather a message man. Someone who has been given very impacting words to deliver on a canvas of song. Not all his songs though are meant to be heavy or deep, some are fun light. What ever happens with his music is ok with him, he only wants the oppourtunity to share it. |
