Massdriver

Massdriver Bio:

I’m lucky enough to have spent more than 20 years playing guitar and bass in punk and metal bands (a noble calling, to be sure) and so I have come to believe that the following things are true:

1). I must be a right old bastard by now.

2). I know a lot of musicians who are also close friends and so will come and help out when I ask.

3). They will come quicker if I have beer.

This is fortunate as keeping a band going when professional and personal circumstances change can be difficult. When we were 18 we bummed around on the dole drinking Special Brew and arranging band time with your layabout mates wasn't a problem. 20 years later, however, we work at jobs to pay for kids and mortgages and so practice time is harder to find.

The availability of cheap home-recording software for PCs now lets us achieve at home what used to be possible only in the studio. Instead of having to assemble five sober musicians in one location at one time, a musician can now create a project at home and call in others when they are needed. This is what we're doing with Massdriver.

So the aims of Massdriver are:

To compose, create, record and distribute music.

To demonstrate how easy and cost-effective this is.

To generate feedback from you so that the website improves and the next tracks are better.
