Iq Bio:
I.Q. is an M.C. that prides himself on intelligence rather than toughness. One of the few who truly has been through rough times, I.Q. does not glorify "thuggish" behavior. Between the ages of 18-21, he was thrown into jail in almost every county in Southern California, and served a significant amount of time, not before skipping his Jury trial, running off to Mexico to live and evetually turning himself in, buying an amazing lawyer who was able cancel his previous strike. The other inmates in L.A. county jail named him I.Q., and so he went with it. Once it got to the point where 1 more problem will send him to prison for a minimum of 5 years, something had to change. After the latest felony for selling weed, I.Q. decided he had enough of this, stopped "actin stupid" as he put it, and took his last $200 to the studio (well.. $150 plus weed he says). This sparked the company Intelligence Records, and I.Q. and his cousin Jesse Ward brought together all the best unsigned MC's in Southern California. I.Q. is probably the most creative MC we have seen yet, touching on all kinds of different topics and wordplay, while always being real and bringing a positive message. A great performer, his prescence commands attention. I.Q. is starting to work with some big names in the underground hip-hop world. He finally was able to do a track with percee P, one of his favorite MC's of all time (who has worked with Planet Asia, Jedi Mind Tricks, Jurassic 5, among others, check www.perceep.com). Be on the lookout for "Emporium" feat I.Q., Percee P, and Bradley, it will be on Underground Revolution vol. 2. His solo album will be released in 2005, be on the lookout. It's only a matter of time before this extremely gifted MC is a household name. Find him on the Intelligence Records mix CD's available at www.intelligencerecords.com 1 luv
