Ethergy Bio: Ethergy are a band who for the last 3 years, have managed to stay at the forefront of the North Welsh music scene,(recently recieving airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Wales and several plays on BBC Radio Cymru) and have made quite an impression on the city of Liverpool in recent months with the likes of Billy Butler, of BBC Radio Mersyside, championing their cause. (Not bad for a band who dont even have a manager.) The consistent high quality of their live performances ensures that when they play, a now all too rare hometown gig, the audience represents a varied cross section of music fans. From punks to indie lovers to dance music fans, not to mention curious local musicians eager to see what the lads will come out with next. The sound they make is inherently British post baggy rock and roll. Flavoured with American and British influences influences of the 60s, 70s and 90s, combined with their own unique approach to composing. Their latest recording (made at Bethesda studios with David Wrench) represents the culmination of the last 2 years, in which the lads have earned their stripes on the gig circuit around Wales and Liverpool, taking in such stops as the Zanzibar, the Barfly, Liverpool academy and the Carling academy along the way. Their punchy rock sound and stylish, attitude filled shows have proved to get even the most stubborn subconscious nodding in time, and made the most prudish of young ladies go weak at the knees. Ethergy have gained a local reputation as a bands band, a regional reputation as crowd pleasers, and now is the right time for them to gain the national, if not global reputation as one of the finest young bands in the UK |
