DJ MindTrip Bio:
DJ Mindtrip is a DJ,Musician and singer/songwriter with a different sound. He doesn't fit the role of a black artist and won't try to be either. He's the alternative to what's happening in music. By using live instruments and grooves with no sampling he has created a raw but original sound. He is someone who is an outsider among he own musically peers. He was born in Brooklyn,NY and grew up in foster care system In mass. It was music which was the saving grace for him. The music of Motown,Blue Note,West end,Staxx Records and Salsoul records were the records which he was inspired as a child. Later on in his teens was inspired by hip-hop and dance producers like Jellybean, Cole/Clivilles,Marly Marl,Pete Rock,SAW,Teddy Riley and Jazzy B. As a DJ he was lucky enough to spin at clubs in Boston and NYC while still in high school. At the same time he produced three successful college mixshows. In 97 he stepped out of DJing and moved to Vermont. In the 7 years away he went soul searching.He went under the name The Studio 69 Boyz and release the single deeper in 1999.Which hit mp3.com house charts and other music sties. Than he left the music scene all together in 2000.In 2004 he returned to DJing with a monthly night called Bear Heat. It ran for two years until the club closed. In 2006 he re-releasing deeper and hit became a smash on the unsigned band web.He also released a one off single called i was messed up. The remix of the song became a hit on unsigned band web.He moved back to new york to record his album.He than relaunch Beat Heat into Bear Heat International in 2007. In 2010 he is about to release his debut video I conquered the gods. Now he's back with a album in the works. |
