Arthur Davenport
Arthur Davenport Bio:

Arthur Davenport's musical career spans 30 years of songwriting and performance. He first started playing in the Washington D.C. folk scene in the 1980's and then moved on to the southwest scene during the 90's while living in New Mexico.

Arthur has been featured on National Public Radio performing his song, "Lonesome Cowboy," specially written for a cowboy music compilation album entitled "'Round-em Up!" Arthur now lives in Hawai'i.

This review for his "Reality Bends" album provides a fitting description of his style: "Using only an acoustic guitar as backup, Arthur Davenport crafts sparse, haunting folk songs with a wry sense of the absurd. Deftly hopping from one vocal personality to another, sometimes within a line, this far-out mountain man keeps the listener guessing." Mike McGuire, Listen.com

Arthur released a second album in May of 2010 - "Whispering to the Wind", a collection of 10 original ballads with a full band supporting the songs.

Written during the summer of 2000 in Las Cruces and Taos, NM, a touchstone to ward off the maladies of diabetes. Whoever said a miracle is easy! The miracle of being exists against all odds, and arises against the primal physical force of entropy, disintegration. Love and sunlight provide a form for us to rise up above that destructive primal force, keep us going through the course of existence, and then bear us to the great unknown beyond. Hey Joe, don’t let go! Dedicated to my diabetes buddy, Kate Doyle and her handsome husband, my adopted brother, Mike “Magic Rock” Doyle.

The original “Little by Little” idea came in 2000, then, most of the lyrics were written in early 2005 in preparation for this album. I wrote this when I began to feel within the whole of the world, from a previous sense of being separate from other beings and apart in existence. I felt like a kid again, for awhile, and wanted to have a primer to recite, to remind me about the nature of things and things of nature, to reconcile and understand that we are all in this together as we merge into forever. Dedicated to Adam “Nalu” Keola, and my good friend, Jonathan Dodge Mayer, who made my musical dreams come true.
